The Latino Youth Leadership Conference brings together Latino and Latina high school students in Nevada for six days of leadership training and development.

Students are housed in the dorms of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During their stay, participants interact with a variety of topics, explore cultural identity, and are empowered to continue their education.

High School students between the ages of 16 and 18 are encouraged to apply. Participants are selected from all socio-economic backgrounds, academic standings, and from all over the state of Nevada.

Participants attend the LYLC at NO cost to the student or their families. All accommodations and materials are provided.

The LYLC is So Much More

Familia | Support

The Latino Youth Leadership Conference builds "familia".

Participants begin as strangers and leave with a large network and support group that serves as an extended family.

Education | Empowerment

Participants learn the importance and the empowering nature of education. Our students are challenged to reach their educational goals and are provided with ample support to ensure they fulfill their highest potential.

Leadership | Service
Building a powerful sense of community begins with volunteering. Students engage in service projects during and after the conference. Participants also explore and build their leadership styles in the context of service.

Lasting Bonds

Familias are forever. Participants are placed in "Familias" throughout the week of the conference.

Familias consist of 9-10 participants and 2 Peer Facilitators. Peer Facilitators undergo a year-long training and highly selective process. The experience of the LYLC would not be the same without our peer facilitators.
